The challenge

Large, sensitive information environments needed clearer navigation and accessible presentation for public and professional audiences.

Existing environment

Requirements

  • Improve navigation and findability
  • Support accessible reading and interaction
  • Refresh the visual system
  • Work across public and professional audiences

Solution architecture

Design decisions

01

Information architecture preceded visual changes.

02

Shared accessible patterns supported consistency across a large content set.

03

Brand updates were restrained so trust and recognition were preserved.

Experience design

Navigation, page hierarchy and interface patterns were redesigned around how people locate information and support.

Implementation

The redesign combined content structure, accessible component patterns, responsive page design and a staged migration across more than 300 pages.

Outcome

Public and professional users gained clearer, more consistent digital experiences across a substantial content estate.

What I learned

On sensitive services, clarity and predictability are part of accessibility.
