Overview
The HTML Embed Generator simplified the process of embedding custom content and rich media into Blackboard Ultra. Academics often lacked the technical knowledge to insert HTML cleanly, which led to errors or inaccessible content.
Process
- Built the generator in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, hosted within Ultra’s content collection.
- Created a form-based interface where staff could paste URLs or code snippets.
- Coded automatic wrappers to clean up input, ensuring embeds displayed correctly within Ultra.
- Tested with staff to refine workflows and provide training materials.
Outcome
The Embed Generator made it simple for staff to integrate videos, interactive widgets, and custom HTML without coding expertise. This improved the quality of course content and reduced reliance on technical support for embedding resources.
